About the faculty

In 1956, the Faculty of Economics was established at V.I. Lenin Tomsk State University. In 1982, it was divided into two faculties: Economics and Management and Finance and Economics. In 1983, the Faculty of Finance and Economics separated from the Faculty of Economics. In 1995, by decision of the TSU Academic Council, the economics faculties merged and continued to operate until 2002. Since that year, they were divided into two independent faculties. Before the division of the economics faculties into independent units, the following deans made a significant contribution to its development: N.S. Nazarov (1957-1959), K.S. Sanginov (1956-1960), M.D. Dzhumaev (several months), O.A. Akramov (1960-1965), Kh.K. Kurbanov (1965-1967), Kh.A. Azamkulov (1967-1970), I.I. Okhunov (1970-1976), T.N. Nazarova (1976-1982), G.B. Bobosadykova (1982-1996).
The first dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Economics was Associate Professor Kh.K. Kurbonov. During this time, such renowned scholars as Professor T.N. Nazarov and Associate Professors T.K. Kazakbaev, I.Kh. Dusaev, S.K. Kurbanov, A.Sh. Shernazarov, G.Yu. Karimov, A.K. Koniev, M.I. Osipenkova, Z.N. Akobirov, D.U. Urokov, and T.G. Gulov worked productively at the faculty. The faculty published textbooks and teaching aids on accounting theory, auditing, business analysis, and more.
Academician of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences I.N. Narzikulov made a significant contribution to the development of the TSU economics departments. From 1982 to 1993, Associate Professor G.Z. Zaripov made a significant contribution to the development of the department. From 1982 to 1993, Associate Professor G.Z. Zaripov. During this period, the student body reached 500 students. At the same time, the departments of Economic Cybernetics and Business Analysis and Audit were established. The faculty actively participated in conferences and international and regional symposia.
For many years, renowned scholars and distinguished teachers have worked at the faculty: Professor D.U. Urokov, PhD candidates and associate professors A.K. Koniev, E.Ya. Zelner, D.K. Dzhabirov, T.G. Gulov, Kh.S. Bokhirova, Sh.D. Komilov, F.O. Odinaev, and many others. The faculty closely collaborates with universities abroad in the field of research. From 1965 to the present, more than 20 faculty members have completed postgraduate studies at the Financial Academy in Moscow and successfully defended their dissertations. This faculty included: Urokov D.U., Komilov Sh.D., Shobekov M.Sh., Kurbanov S.K., Gadoev D.O., Sharipov R.S., Ismatov A.I., and others, who currently work in various sectors of the republic’s economy and abroad.
Renowned scholars and professors of the Moscow Financial Academy made a significant contribution to the training of specialists: Dodonov A.A., Vasin F.P., Barngols S.A., Novichenko P.P., Rendukov M.I., Rozhnov V.V. Since 1981, the faculty has established scientific and methodological ties with Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Educational Activities
The Faculty of Accounting and Economics focuses on three areas: developing accounting, analysis, and auditing systems that comply with international accounting standards (Department of Accounting, Analysis, and Audit); developing models and methods for predicting water resource conservation (Department of Economic Cybernetics); and developing key methodological studies of demographic statistics in the development of the Republic of Tatarstan under current conditions (Department of Statistics).
The faculty has participated in international seminars and conferences on issues related to educational systems in higher education institutions abroad: Professor D.U. Urokov (Munich, Istanbul, the Netherlands, Ireland, Shiraz), Associate Professor B.U. Shukurov (People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan).
Faculty Structure
The Faculty of Accounting and Economics is considered one of the largest faculties at the university. Currently, over 1,000 students are enrolled in its full-time and part-time departments. From 1960 to 1993, the faculty trained specialists in the following fields in the national economy of the republic and beyond: accounting, analysis, and control (with qualifications in industry, construction, agriculture, budgetary structures, and trade); statistics (statistics and demography); and economic cybernetics. Currently, the faculty has five departments:

    Research Activities
    The faculty hosts seminars in various areas, and faculty from the Departments of Accounting, Economic Analysis and Audit, Statistics, and Economic Cybernetics actively participate in them.
